The four letter S word...

I'm not a fan of snow, it's deceptive. Sure, it looks pretty when it sits upon the hill across the road, especially when the evening sun hits it and gives it a pink hue. But when it's a foot deep and covering ice, it's not so pretty anymore.

Typically here in the Pacific Northwest (aka the northWET), our seasons are relatively mild. Heat comes for a couple of weeks sometime in July or August; we experience winter for a couple weeks in January. But other than that, while we do have four distinct seasons, none of them are miserable or intolerable (at least not for long!) But this winter has been frustrating! November wasn't even winter, but the wettest on record and certainly an omen for things to come. A friend who lives along the river last several acres of pasture when the water washed it away. The rains were followed by 14 inches of snow, after which we had high winds, more rain, more wind, snow and ice...and now snow again! Sigh...

Aside from the four letter S word, I'm in the process of unmolding a new batch of soap which I was going to call Big Red Firecracker, but it's really too light and citrusy for that name. Perhaps I should just call it by the name the fragrance oil came with; Energy. I've got a photo of a big red horse going on the label, hence the original thought on the name, but I think Energy ought to work well enough for him.
